Footsteps Dance School

Footsteps Policies and Safeguarding

Footsteps Dance School pride ourselves on the efforts we take to make sure each dancer comes to the dance studio with a smile and leaves with an even bigger one. The safety measures we have for our students and the interest we take in them makes us a great choice as a dance school. Please find out Policies and Commitments below:

Covid -19 Details at Footsteps Dance School

Following new guidelines from the Government, we’re delighted to welcome our students back to our studios! We’ve been working hard on implementing new safety and hygiene measures to adhere to Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.

Please kindly note our new measures listed on this page:

All classes must be block-booked in advance

– There will be no drop-in classes due to Covid-19 restrictions.

  • Class numbers must be restricted to accommodate the room size.

  • Office visits by appointment only (via email or phone).

  • Payments can be made by Bank Transfer or Cash in a named envelope. Invoices will be sent via email.

  • Please arrive dressed for class. Changing facilities are limited.

Please do not attend the school if you feel unwell or have any Covid-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, loss of smell and/or fever or high temperature), including mild symptoms – see the latest advice from NHS website or the Government website.

It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that their CHILD and HOUSEHOLD are symptom-free before sending their child to classes. Footsteps reserves the right to check pupils’ temperatures if deemed necessary and to request for individuals to be picked up immediately if there is reason to believe they may be a health risk to others.

Entry/Exit and Pick-up/Drop-off

  • Class participants must sanitise their hands on entry and exit and carry their own bottle in their bag.

  • Children who take class in the Dance Studio or dining room will enter via the 3rd gate entrance. Those dancing in the main hall will enter via the hall door.

  • Please kindly note that parents will be required to drop the children off at the door. Staff and our class assistants will be monitoring the pupils during pick up and drop off times.

  • Parents are requested to collect their child outside the relevant external door in an orderly socially distanced fashion.

Inside Footsteps Studios – Class Participants

  • Changing rooms are limited at present so participants must:

  • arrive appropriately dressed for class,

  • remove outdoor shoes in the corridor outside the studio and, once in the studio, remove outer layers where necessary. Any removed clothing must be placed in their own small personal bag beside their designated space.

  • At the end of class, pupils must gather all their belongings and line up at the exit door they arrived at in order to be collected by parents.

  • Pupils who transfer between multiple classes can remain in the building and will be supervised, however, participants over the age of 5 are required to re-sanitise their hands and maintain social distance, when moving between studios.

  • Please ensure where possible that your child does not need the toilet on arrival for their class. Toilet facilities are of course available for use by pupils attending multiple classes and appropriate hand washing and sanitizing must be followed before and after usage.

Pre-booking, Payments & Office Visits

  • All classes must be block-booked in advance due to capacity restrictions. Drop-in or trial class arrangements cannot operate within the current Covid-19 restrictions. Please email Footstepsdanceschool11@gmail.com to register for any new classes or as a returning participant.

  • Termly payments can be made by preferably a bank transfer or by Cash in a named envelope on arrival to your first class.

  • There will be no refunds for any classes not attended. In the event of Footsteps having to temporarily close for business due to Governmewnt guidelines or Covid-19 related reasons, the balance of any cancelled pre-booked classes will be credited to the next available block of classes.
